Blog: Music is food for the soul, and our food tastes good.

Hello everyone,

Since we launched three months ago, the team has been busy with all the things you’d expect with a new start up.  Now that things are running relatively smoothly, we’re back to pick up where we left off.

One of the things we were busy with was perfecting our new dinner and cocktail menus. We’re supremely confident that our newly introduced food items and cocktails will meet and, hopefully, even surpass your expectations.  After all, most people know us as a live music venue, but not as a good place for dinner and cocktails.  We’ve had some rather pleasantly surprised test subjects for our food and cocktail tasting thus far.

We’re working on adding our new items to the “menu” section of our webpage and it’ll be up very soon.  But in the meantime, we’re listing it here so you know what we’ve got in store for you.  So the next time you’re thinking of a place for dinner or cocktails with great atmosphere and wonderfully fresh live entertainment, you know where to find us.

SIGNATURE COCKTAILS FOR THE LOUNGE

SOLEDAD (A CHOIR OF ONE)

A hymn to end all hymns, a song to end all songs. A harmonious concoction of gin, elderflower and apple juice to drop you on your knees and sing along.

CAIPIRINHA DE MARACUJA – Passionfruit Caipirinha

Inspired by the cult film ‘City of God’. A twist on the classic caipirinha with fresh limes and golden-ripe passionfruit.

CHARLIE BROWN

The perennial underdog and loser finally gets a fitting tribute – smooth peanut butter and vanilla, spiked with vodka.

CITROEN COSMOPOLITAN

The Classic Cosmopolitan, found in the trendiest hangouts and classiest bistros, has to be the favourite girlie cocktail of choice up there with the traditional Martini. This ultimate chi-chi martini is recreated with Ketel One Citroen vodka and cranberry juice, spilled literally with orange peel liqueur.

DEUSA DO AMOR

Translated from Portuguese as “Goddess of Love”, this caipirinha-inspired creation will stir some heat while simultaneously cooling you down.

FIRST WIVES’ CLUB

What would the plantation tai-tais of the slave trade era drink if they had their afternoon soirees while their husbands were out gallivanting? This lovely blend of Bourbon, mangoes and rose of course.

MARTINI CLASSIC – TANQUERAY TEN GIN / KETEL ONE VODKA

The classic cocktail served the way that does it justice. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

MARVIN (LE MARTIEN)

Created in tribute to the misanthropic extraterrestrial from the Looney Tunes animation of yore, this absinthe-nuked martini may not take you to Mars but you’ll definitely see some stars.

NEGRONI

The Negroni is a sophisticated, world-weary drink – one with Italian origins and bitter complexity, yet remarkably balanced and charmingly straightforward. This classic blend of gin, Campari and Italian vermouth provides a touch of timeless class in this age of electro-pretenders.

THE HABIBI (THE BELOVED)

A boy lost in the middle-eastern quarter of Melbourne pined for his yet to-be found soul mate and this exotic potion of vodka, rose, apple & saffron was born. A romantic delight.

HANSEL & GRETEL

Inspired by the Black forest fairy tale featuring two lost kids with a sweet tooth. This union of fruits, jam, cream and vodka takes the cake.

THE INCREDIBLE SULK

Green, mean & broods at the corner of the bar all night long, The Incredible Sulk pushes the palate with its marriage of sweet & sour from Frangelico, Midori, fresh pineapples and lime.

THICK FACE, BLACK HEART

From a martial art story: the thick face as a shield to protect, the black heart as a sword to destroy. Such paradox in itself, so buy your enemy a drink. A creation of vodka, apple sourz, vanilla, fresh lime and homemade black jelly.

FAN-TAB-ULOUS

Reminiscent of a long summer day, spent under a garden marquee. A refreshing harmony of gin, fresh cucumber and elderflower.

KETEL ONE ORANGE-LYCHEE CAIPIROSKA

Crafted with vodka of clarity and blended with citrus and the sweetness of the lychee fruit.
